The Gothic Route – Forgotten Heritage Beyond the Border symbolically connected two parts of the historical Gemer County yesterday. You could discover little-known medieval churches on both sides of the border or admire newly restored wall paintings in its historical centre. We believe that we have brought you a powerful cultural experience.
Our partners and collaborators behind the event were colleagues from the Cerová vrchovina Protected Landscape Area (CHKO), who broadened our horizons while exploring the cultural landscape of Vyšné Valice, and the Schola Gloria Dei Homo Vivens et Verbum Domini with a deep spiritual experience of their Gregorian chant. We would like to thank the Sine Metu association for their cooperation and help providing guides in the churches. Big support came from the municipality of Zubogy, which organized lunch, and the municipalities of Vyšné Valice and Ragály, that provided refreshments and drinks. This event would not have been possible without the cooperation of individual church congregations of the Reformed Christian Church in Slovakia and the Hungarian Reformed Church. We also appreciate the support of the GemArt association – Gemer Art Institute. The event was sponsored by the VUB Bank Foundation and the Banská Bystrica Region Tourism. We would like to thank all partners and collaborators. Almost 500 visitors came to the event.
